For all customers who register with the “My Account” function, we create a customer account, i.e. direct access to the master data stored with us, protected by a password. In particular, you can consult the data relating to past, current or recently sent orders or manage your personal data and the newsletter.
2.1.1 Creating a customer account
The following information is required to create a customer account (mandatory information):

In addition, we use your email address for identification purposes (as a login ID) when you log in to your customer account.
2.1 Use of the customer account
You can use your BeGoood customer account to log in to the BokashiCompost or BeGoood online store.

2.2 Collection, processing and use of your personal data
We collect, store and process your data for the entire purchase process, including any subsequent guarantees, for our services, technical administration, for our own marketing purposes, and to combat crime and fraud. Your personal data will only be passed on to third parties if this is permitted by law, including for the purpose of contract fulfilment, billing, marketing purposes or if you have previously consented to this. Within the framework of the execution of the order, the service providers we use (such as the carrier, the logisticians, the banks) receive from us, for example, the data necessary for the execution of the order and the contract. Our service providers may only use the data thus transmitted for the execution of their mission.
2.3 Use of your data for advertising purposes
In addition to processing your data for the shopping process on BokashiCompost, we also use your data for the following purposes: to continuously improve your shopping experience, to make it more user-friendly and personal, to communicate with you regarding your orders, specific products or marketing actions, and to suggest products or services that may be of interest to you.
For this purpose, we use information available to us, such as e-mail receipt or read confirmations, information about the device you are using, your connection to the Internet, the operating system and platform, the date and time you visited the site, the products you viewed, and information you sent to us (including information that was transmitted or generated automatically). We also use your order history.
You can object to the use of your personal data for advertising purposes at any time, in whole or in part, without paying any costs other than the transmission costs at the basic rates. A notification in text form to the contact details mentioned in paragraph 1 is sufficient.

If you do not wish to receive newsletters in the future, you can opt out at any time, without paying any costs other than the transmission costs at the basic rates. A notification in text form to the contact details mentioned in paragraph 1 is sufficient. Of course, you will find an unsubscribe link in each newsletter.
2.3.2 Bannering
We also use the data collected during your visit to display advertising banners. These are advertisements that we activate on other third-party sites. This is mostly done through cookies or pixels. Our goal is to make our advertising offer more convenient and interesting. For this reason, the banners you see mainly contain products that you have already viewed on our site or products that are identical to the products you have viewed (retargeting). We only work with pseudonymous data for banner ads; information in plain text about you (e.g. your name or e-mail address) is not stored in cookies.
Further information on cookies, pixels and retargeting can be found in paragraphs 4 and 7 of this data protection policy.
- Cookies
You do not have to accept cookies to visit our site. However, please be aware that the operation of our site and services is limited if you do not allow us to set cookies.
3.1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small files stored on your data carrier that store certain settings and data to enable exchanges with our system via your browser. In principle, there are two types of cookies: session cookies, which are deleted as soon as you close your browser, and temporary/permanent cookies, which are stored on your data carrier for a longer period of time or permanently. This registration allows us to adapt our website and our offers accordingly and to facilitate your use by saving, for example, certain data, thus avoiding the need for you to constantly enter them.
3.2. What cookies are used?
Most of the cookies we use are automatically deleted from your hard drive when you exit your browser (end of session, hence session cookies). Session cookies are used, for example, to offer you the shopping cart function on multiple pages. In addition, we also use cookies on your hard drive. The next time you visit, you will be automatically recognized, along with your preferred entries and settings. These temporary and permanent cookies (lasting from one month to 10 years) are stored on your hard disk and are deleted by themselves after the defined period. These cookies are used to make our site more welcoming, efficient and secure. These files allow, for example, the display of information specifically related to your interests. Cookies are used exclusively to adapt our offer to the wishes of our customers and to make your visit to our website as comfortable as possible.
3.3. What data is stored in cookies?
Only pseudonymous data is stored in the cookies used. When the cookie is activated, it is assigned an identification number and your personal data is not assigned to this identification number. Your name, IP address, or any similar data that allows the cookie to be directly assigned to you is not placed on the cookie. On the basis of cookie technology, we only receive pseudonymized information, e.g. which pages of our store you have visited, which products you have viewed, etc.
3.4. What is Onsite Targeting?
On the basis of cookie technology, data is collected on the pages of the site in order to optimize our advertising and the entire online offer. This data is not used to identify you personally, but only to perform a pseudonymized analysis of site usage. With this technology, we may present you with advertising and/or special offers and services whose content depends on information obtained from click stream analysis (e.g. advertising based on the fact that only body care products have been viewed in the last few days). Our goal is to make our offer as welcoming as possible and to present you with advertising that matches your interests.
3.5. Are there also cookies from other suppliers (third party cookies)?
We use some advertising partners who help us to make the internet offer and the website more interesting. Thus, cookies from partner companies are also stored on your hard drive when you visit our site. These are temporary/permanent cookies that are automatically deleted at the end of the defined period. These temporary and permanent cookies (14 days to 10 years) are stored on your hard drive and are self-deleting after the defined period. Even the cookies of our partner companies contain only pseudonymized data, and in most cases they are even anonymous. For example, data about which products you have viewed, whether you bought something, which products were searched for, etc. Some of our advertising partners also collect information about previously visited pages or products of interest to you outside of the site, so that they can show you advertising that best matches your interests
3.6. Retargeting
Our site uses so-called retargeting technologies. We use these technologies to make the online offer more interesting. This technique allows us to present advertising on our partners’ websites to Internet users who are already interested in our store and our products. We are convinced that the insertion of interest-based advertising is more interesting for Internet users than non-personal advertising. The insertion of these advertising materials on our partners’ websites is based on cookie technology and an analysis of your previous behavior. This form of advertising is done in a perfectly pseudonymous way.
When you use our website, cookies are placed in order to capture, store and use usage data. In addition, your data remains stored in the cookies when you exit your browser so that it can be reused the next time you visit the site.
3.7. How do I prevent cookies from being saved?
You can set your browser to accept cookies and to prevent other cookies from being stored in the future. If you only want to accept cookies from BokashiCompost, but not from our service providers and partners, you can select “Block third-party cookies” in your browser.
Generally, the help function in the menu bar of your browser will tell you how to reject new cookies and block cookies already received.
- Log files
Every time you access the BokashiCompost website, your browser transmits usage data which is recorded in so-called server log files. The recorded data blocks contain the following data: date and time of the visit, name of the site visited, IP address, referrer URL (original URL from which you came to the site), volume of data transferred, product and information on the version of the browser used.
We analyze these blocks of data contained in the log files in order to improve our offerings and make them more welcoming, to find and fix errors faster, and to manage server capacity. At the same time, we use the data blocks contained in the log files to block attacks on our BokashiCompost store, such as so-called denial-of-service attacks that aim to block access to our BokashiCompost store by overloading it with requests.
- Web analysis
In order to continuously improve and optimize our offer, we use so-called tracking technologies. For this purpose, we use the services of Google Analytics.
5.1 Google Analytics
This website uses Google Analytics (Universal), a web analysis service provided by Google Inc. (www.google.com). Google (Universal) Analytics uses methods to analyze your use of the website, such as the use of “cookies”, which are text files stored on your computer. The information generated about your use of the website is generally transmitted to and stored on a Google server in the United States. By activating IP anonymization on this site, the IP address is abbreviated before transmission within the member states of the European Union or the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA, where it will be abbreviated. The anonymized IP address transmitted by your browser as part of the Google Analytics service is not combined with other data held by Google.
You can prevent the data generated by the cookie about your use of the website (including your IP address) from being collected and processed by Google by downloading and installing the plugin available under the following link. http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=fr .
Instead of installing the plugin, you can click on this link to prevent Google Analytics from entering this site in the future. An opt-out cookie will be placed on your device. If you delete the cookies, you will have to click on this link again.
- Retargeting and third-party data capture for banner ads
For retargeting and banner ads, we use the services of third parties who place cookies on our site. These are the following suppliers:
– Doubleclick by Google, Google Inc, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA;
https://www.google.de/intl/en/policies/technologies/ads/
– Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA;
https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy
- Secure data transmission
We transmit your personal data in an encrypted form. This also applies to your order and customer login. For this purpose, we use the SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption system.
In addition, we secure our site and other systems with technical and organizational measures against loss, destruction, access, modification or dissemination of your data by any unauthorized person.
